You can qualify online to win your seat in the 2012 WSOP Main Event through Satellite qualifying tournaments starting with nothing with seats up for grabs though freerolls or buy-ins as low as 10 Cents. In addition to your seat you can make additional money just for showing up at the WSOP and you could win an additional ten million dollars if you take first place. The World Series of Poker 2021 Tournaments start on May 26, and there is a total of 63 gold bracelets up for grabs.

Players hoping to win a seat in a big buy-in tournament will play in satellite tournaments attempting to win an entry into a larger tournament at a much lower cost than what the full buy-in is.

How a satellite tournament works

LPC gives every player the chance to put their skills to the test and win huge prizes for a very small investment. To explain how a satellite tournament works consider a larger tournament with a buy-in of $1000. The buy-in for the satellite tournament which leads to this large tournament is $100. If there are 10 entrants (into the satellite), first place will get a $1000 entry to the larger tournament. If there are 20 entrants, then 1st and 2nd places will both receive a $1000 entry to the larger tournament. If there is any leftover prize money, it will be distributed to the runners up as per the satellite’s payout structure.

Fees to Satellite tournaments

If there is a fee to enter a satellite tournament, it will be denoted by stating the buy-in amount and the entry fee. A cost of ‘$30+$3’ indicates that the buy-in is $30, and the entry fee is $3. The $30 goes to the prize pool which the players compete for, while the $3 entry fee is taken as compensation for hosting the tournament.
